Verivius for Domiciliary Care

CQC governance for home care delivered in people’s own homes, built around the evidence a community service has to prove: that visits happen on time, that care is safe out of sight, and that risks are seen and acted on.

What CQC inspects for domiciliary care

Domiciliary care agencies are inspected under the same five key questions as every CQC-registered service (safe, effective, caring, responsive, well-led), but the evidence focus is shaped by one fact: the care happens in people’s homes, often with one worker present and no clinical setting around them.

That puts weight on things a care home does not have to evidence in the same way: that visits are not missed or cut short, that lone workers are safe and supported, that medication is administered and recorded correctly in the home, and that a change in someone’s condition is escalated quickly when the carer may be the only person who sees it. Safeguarding sits heavily here, with Care Act 2014 referral duties and the Mental Capacity Act decision records that community care relies on.

Domiciliary providers also answer to local authority commissioners and safeguarding boards as well as CQC. Verivius records the governance trail in one structured place so what each of those bodies needs to see stays consistent.

What the Verivius domiciliary care setup covers

The domiciliary care setup is the social-care content that comes pre-loaded into your account on top of the core Verivius platform. It includes:

  • Incident categories that matter in the community (medication administration record errors, missed or late visits, falls, pressure-area concerns, safeguarding referrals).
  • Missed-visit and lone-working oversight, so the things that go wrong out of sight are logged, themed, and acted on.
  • Mental Capacity Act decision records and best-interest documentation for the decisions made in someone’s home.
  • Care plan review cycles with the person-centred-care evidence categories the framework asks for.
  • Care Act 2014 safeguarding referral records alongside the CQC Regulation 18 notification path.
  • Training matrix templates for home-care roles (care workers, senior carers, care coordinators) with the mandatory-training cycle (moving and handling, medication, safeguarding, end-of-life care).
  • Mock Inspection methodology adapted for domiciliary evidence categories.

Status: live

The domiciliary care setup is live in Verivius v1. You can sign up directly and have the content loaded into your account from day one. Because home care is registered with CQC under the same categories as residential social care, you pick “domiciliary care” at signup so your workspace is set up for community delivery rather than a care home.

If you run a home care service and want to take a look before signing up, get in touch using the form below.
